My early years were filled with the wonder of discovery of photography. Spellbound from an early age I was intruiged as my father conjured images seemingly by magic in his home dark-room. It was an early introduction to black and white photography, and the beginnings of a passion that inspired a life in professional photography.
From my early years on the pristine coastlines of South Coast of New South Wales, Australia to my home in the historic region of Tarn et Garonne, in the South West of France, I am inspired to create photographic art of the people and places around me. I work with clients locally and internationally shooting destination weddings, personal branding and portraiture. For me, it is a joy to capture heirloom imagery from otherwise fleeting moments allowing my clients to relive the pleasure and emotion of once-in-a-lifetime events, and tap into the joie de vivre time and again.
A self-confessed life-long Francophile, I transformed my world moving my photographic life from Australia to France, to a medieval village house I now call home. I love sharing the authentic and down-to-earth lifestyle and beauty of my region, Tarn et Garonne, sharing the relaxed Southern French life through photography, events, workshops and elopement packages. Years of photographic experience, coupled with a relaxed and down-to-earth approach, sets clients at ease whether getting married, eloping to France, learning photography or stepping in front of the camera to build their personal brand.
I love people. And I love the emotion and honest moments life events and celebrations spawn. Happiness as guests share laughter in long balmy twilights, the intimate gaze of lovers as they profess their vows, the excitement of a child twirling in her first special-occasion dress in the company of those she loves, a woman celebrating a milestone or personal achievement by taking time out to explore an ancient cobblestone village; I love capturing unique and natural human moments of intimacy, joy and love in a natural, documentary style.
It is a privilege to share in a life milestone. A birthday, a personal branding sesion, or the warmth of family moments; pre-ceremony intimacy to couples making personal history as they commit to one another, to moments of human interaction and frivolity at post-ceremony celebrations… My passion to conserve life’s special moments as natural, artistic frames of story-telling, is realised while maintaining a presence that is subtle and unobtrusive.
I recently renovated an ancient French village house, drawing out the character and beauty of the raw materials and way-of-life so intrinsic to this part of France; preserving and highlighting its historic features and charm, while subtly injecting contemporary elements to complement its time-old beauty. This mirrors my creative approach to life and photography; paying homage to the best of bygone eras, layered with modern life and a contemporary aesthetic. It is exciting to explore my little corner of the world with others who share a joy for life and a love of France, creating French infused brand imagery in authentic village settings with my clients at the heart of imagery.
Every day I meander through my pretty stone village heralds discoveries of quintessential scenes, changing light, and picturesque beauty akin to a film set. My local connections and intimate knowledge of the ancient corners of the village allow me to create imagery with a cinematic feel for clients who value the French way of life and a timeless aesthetic. Whether you’re used to being in front of the camera or well away from it, my relaxed, collaborative and intimate approach to styling, creative direction and photography will have you relishing the moments, memories and imagery of a day in France for years to come… Come and join me in ma vie Francaise.
My photographic style brings together a contemporary aesthetic with an appreciation of the timeless and powerful elements of classic documentary art photography. With a timeless mood, I capture the beauty of fleeting natural moments with an artist’s eye and a storyteller’s passion. Influenced by some of the greats of documentary and humanist photography such as Robert Doisneau, Henri Cartier-Bresson and George Brassaï as well as more contemporary photography influences such as Annie Leibovitz, Robert Avedon and Carla Coulson, my photography transcends trends and time to deliver you heirloom imagery that will at once feel fresh, yet stand the test of time. Whether you’re looking for an intuitive natural wedding photographer, or brand imagery with a French joie de vivre, my natural photojournalistic style and visual story-telling approach will bring your vision to life.
