Nothing prompts me to relax more than Provence in the Autumn… it’s one of the most special places in the whole world for me. With the landscape glowing with tinges of rust kissing the leaves and evenings still long and balmy, it surprises me more couples don’t choose to wed at this beautiful time of year. So I was overjoyed when Laura and Kevin contacted me to photograph their wedding in Provence at this truly special time of year… I knew these two had style.
Laura and Kevin left no stone unturned in the quest for the perfect setting, location and styling to celebrate their Provincial wedding; the care and thought behind this event was obvious to all attending; from the characterful location at Domaine de Blanche Fleur near Avignon, the impeccable styling of the groomsmen and bridesmaids, to the thoughtful touches for guests throughout the event.
This self-confessed quiet and considered couple were determined to make sure their guests enjoyed the celebrations as much as they did. Blessed with a thirty degree day in the Autumn season and gourmet plans in place, the scene was set for a fabulous celebration at the characterful mill house in Provence…
Near to Saint Remy, Les Beaux de Provence, Aix en Provence and Arles, Domaine de Blanche Fleur is a perfect location to enjoy the decidedly chic and relaxed nature of Provence. And with thoughtful hosts such as Laura and Kevin, guests were in for a garden feast of music, wine, French food, friends and family…
After the intimate ceremony, we slipped away for portraits in the vineyard and to a secret secluded spot by the mill house stream for some one on one time for Laura and Kevin.
I always advise my couples to take a little time on the day for themselves. Not only so we can capture beautiful couple photos, but also so they can cherish some precious quiet moments together. As Laura and Kevin sat on a seat by the Mill House stream, my assistant slipped them each a glass of champagne and we gave them a few quiet moments to enjoy together. For this self-confessed introverted couple, these were special moments that they will cherish forever…
Thoughtful details extended through to the final hours of the evening; starting with cocktail hour including; champagne, delicious grazing plates of Provencal produce and fantastic music; a singer straight from the Paris stage of the Lion King belting out Motown classics and R&B tunes, as well as an incredible DJ vibing well into the evening.
The considered touches continued for their guests, with a much welcomed basket of flip flops provided so guests could slip off their heels and comfortably dance to the music well into the balmy Autumn evening…
Laura and Kevin made sure that this wedding was enjoyed by all. In fact, it was so much fun that everyone, the couple, their guests and even staff and vendors were tapping their toes as the day turned to night, enjoying the ambiance of love, celebration and happiness, and the balmy beauty of Provence in the Autumn…
